Book news - Best of the Booker

Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children has won the public vote for Best of the Booker prize, as widely tipped.

I'm afraid I never managed to get more than twenty pages into that one.

You know, I have read a few of his, and I've come to the conclusion that I love pages of them, and some of the ideas and words ssparkle, but I find it difficult to hold on to the main narrative threads.

Are they renaming this the 'Rushdie Prize'? I see he's on this year's list too.
